It worked only for a day. The first day I used this Netgear DSL modem router I was able to connect my laptop to the internet, using the Wifi interface and then the Ethernet interface. I then turned off the modem router and powered down my laptop. When I turned on the modem router the following day, the DSL light on the device went to orange and never went to green. So I was unable to get any internet connection. I phoned Frontier Communications (my internet service provider) tech support and was informed that Frontier does not support the device, even though the device has a Frontier logo on it.Also, the device did not come with any user documentation. Which may mean it was returned to the vendor by some other customer who neglected to include the documentation along with the device. So either the device is defective, or else it just needed to be restored to some factory-default setting. Support only for Frontier Users I am a Century Link customer and this Gateway is working better than the Century Link provided Gateway. Download speeds run consistently higher than the Century link unit and Latency is running at about half the century Link unit. The bad news is that it is configured for Frontier Telephone which results in Firmware updates being supplied through them. As a result I am unable to keep the Firmware up to date. I am concerned this will open up my system to security issues.

Can be used with Centurylink DSL! Hi!We bought this to replace the rental DSL unit from CenturyLink. Plugged it in, let it get set up, put in the password, and I connected pretty fast!! The price has gone down since we bought it so this is a very good deal! Definitely would recommend! Thanks!
