If you have DSL, BUY THIS CABLE! If you are like me and live in a rural area with DSL and you aren’t using a shielded cable stop reading this review and just order it. It took me a few years to figure out why my DSL speeds were always so terrible but after some long overdue research I found a solution and I tried it…shielded cable. Cable is high quality very stiff so you have to work it a little bit to get it where you need it. This is a great solution for anyone who has a long run between where there modem is and where an available telephone jack is. I ran my line direct from the NID (Network Interface Device) on the outside of my home to the modem and have seen increases in both my upload and download speeds. I’m able to stream HD movies now with no buffering or warnings from providers. To be clear, this is a shielded telephone cable (RJ11) not a LAN cable (Cat 5, 6, etc.) If you have DSL and you are still using standard telephone cable, stop, click, order, and install. You won’t be disappointed with the…

Great replacement. Allows me to move my modem around my home office I needed to move my modem further from where the short cord that AT&T provided allows. I bought a 25′ cable from Fry’s Electronics, but it never allowed my modem to connect back to my ISP. I bought this 25′ cable from Amazon, and a couple minutes after swapping out the cable, I was back online. Speedtest.net showed my DL speed at 50.73 Mbps (I am on the 40 Mbps plan), which means that I didn’t lose any performance from swapping cables. This cable looks cooler than the ugly green cable from AT&T, and the RJ11 plugs look/feel sturdy at both ends. Happy with my purchase.
