Model MB7220 is an 8×4 343 Mbps DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem certified by a number of leading cable service providers including Comcast XFINITY, Time Warner Cable, Cox, and BrightHouse. Owning this modem eliminates modem rental charges that are often $100 or more per year. With easy installation, high-speed, broad compatibility, and superb customer support, Model MB7220 is the perfect choice for almost any cable modem user. 8 X 4 means that up to 8 cable data channels carry data from the Internet, eight times faster than DOCSIS 2.0; and up to 4 channels carry data to the Internet. A Full-Band Capture digital tuner helps assure consistently fast speeds from your service provider. A 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) port allows connection of a computer, router, HDTV, game station, or other Ethernet-capable device. Setup is fast and easy with a few quick steps set out in a Quick Start guide. Experienced USA-based customer support specialists are ready and willing to help if you need them. Model MB7220’s compact, attractive design saves space and looks good in any home or office. This product is backed by a two-year warranty and features ruggedized lightning and power surge circuits to provide additional protection of your investment. DOCSIS 3.0, 2.0, and 1.1 support and CableLabs certification ensure compatibility with cable services nationwide. Best of all, the MB7220 offers the value, performance, and attention to quality that continue to make Motorola the leading brand of cable modems. Please note that the MB7220 plugs easily into computers, HDTVs, and other Ethernet-capable devices including any router of your choice, but the MB7220 does not have a built-in router. Motorola Model MG7310, for instance, has both a cable modem and a built-in router.

Cable Modem Features: Supports IPv4 and IPv6 for powerful, flexible network addressing.

NEW……it ain’t Go to somewhere like Best Buy and get a modem shrink wrapped and new. This one was sold as a NEW item but in fact was already hooked into an account on XFINITY. It clearly is not new. It works, but that is not the point. If an item is described on any web site as new, then new it should be. Hook up time with this modem was hours as XFinity support had to cancel whomever’s account this modem was connected to. I purchased a shiny NEW Netgear modem this morning from Best Buy and all is connected and good. It would appear I’m not the only punter affected by this type of issue. Should have done more research and will be very wary buying electronics from Amazon going forward.

Working Great for Me (Comcast Customer) Bought this used like-new and it works perfectly. I have comcast and was NOT going to pay those bas*****, nice people a monthly rental fee. If you go on their site they show you compatible modems and its only the super expensive ones that show up but if you scroll down you’ll see all the other ones they are compatible with. Same goes if you use their business website you can see all the other modems that work with their service. A lot of the more expensive modems are for really fast internet speeds that will be unnessecary for the vast majority of consumers. This can do 300mbps… my internet is the basic package so we get 25mbps which it handles no problem.Do yourself a favor and get a router separate for two reasons: 1) I found it to be much cheaper than any two-in-one modem-router combo 2) if you move or change service providers you wont have to buy another expensive combo but instead can just replace your modem
