Super easy setup – imagine that! First of all, I ordered this router yesterday and it was sitting on my doorstep at 1:00 this afternoon. That’s pretty awesome.Second, I looked at a number of Netgear products and was a bit scared to order one given that many of the reviews complained about the hardware, the setup and the Netgear customer service. I’m no modem wizard and only deal with them when I have to. The crappy, weak router/modem we got through our ISP had been on the fritz for a couple of months. When I called our ISP, they said they no longer sell them, but rent them for $7/month. Um, no thank you. Crapped out 6 months in, support is non existent Router randomly went into a boot loop. It would turn on, start working, then after 30 seconds restart.I explained this issue to the Netgear support agent and he continued on with his script. Having me do things like check ipconfig, open up the router settings, etc. Meanwhile the router is constantly rebooting. I tried explaining the issue and he kept saying “yes sir I understand.” Then continued with his script.I was hoping at the end of his script he’d transfer me to someone more knowledgeable so I sat with it for 45 minutes. At the end he asked for a credit card number so I could buy 2 years of customer service for $229 after we get it fixed. At this point I thought I called a scam number but I checked and it was the actual support number from their website.$229 for support that hasn’t yet helped me fix my $100 router. Makes a lot of sense.Their customer support is absolutely pathetic. If you need help, just go to their troubleshoot…
