Fix your internet by finding the weak link.
Slow speeds
Compare a wired test with a Wi-Fi test near the router. If wired speed is healthy, focus on Wi-Fi coverage, interference, or client capability. If both are consistently slow, inspect the modem or gateway, provider status, cabling, and household traffic.

Wi-Fi not working well
Move the router into an open, elevated, central location where practical. Test the same device in the same room and then in the problem room. A large drop with distance points to coverage rather than a slow internet plan.
Devices keep dropping
Record whether Ethernet fails too, whether the router reboots, and whether the modem loses synchronization. Intermittent problems are easier to solve when you capture the exact pattern.
Can’t get online
Check provider outages, power, cabling, and status lights before factory-resetting equipment. A provider outage will not be fixed by erasing your router settings.
