Use the result as a diagnostic clue
A speed test measures one path at one moment. It is most useful when you repeat the same method and compare layers. Test once close to the router, then over Ethernet when possible. If Ethernet is healthy and Wi-Fi is weak in another room, the broadband plan may be fine while the local wireless network needs attention.
What download, upload, and latency mean
Download capacity matters for streaming and large downloads. Upload matters for calls, cloud backup, cameras, and sending files. Latency matters for interactive work and gaming. A balanced connection can feel better than one with a very large download number and limited upstream capacity.
Privacy and data use
This test uses Cloudflare’s public speed-test endpoints. Speed tests intentionally move data. Avoid repeated testing on metered connections, and review Cloudflare’s current policies if you need detailed information about measurement handling.
